ISCG 05 Explained
The International Standard Chain Guide mounting system was developed by a number of companies to achieve a consistency across the frame manufacturing board. While it seemed to work for a number of years, the frame manufacturing practices of today now demand for a more rigorous and compatible protocol. The following represents the difference between the old ISCG pattern and the new ISCG Standard (ISCG 05).
The new ISCG 05 Standard was developed by drivetrain component and frame manufacturers to accommodate the need for more strict guidelines, while increasing frame design compatibility.
This consortium of component and frame manufacturing companies have been involved with developing this new standard. Within the next two years the majority of the bicycle industry shall be utilizing the new design.
